Redpath Albion/Pilmeny Sports Academy

Trophies and Medals may gather dust.....Memories last forever...

Offering sports and healthy lifestyle activities to young people within the Leith Walk Ward, encompassing Lorne - Pilrig - Bonnington - Calton & Broughton communities,

The Youth & Junior sections of the club were established in 1989 and in 2019 we celebrated 30 years as a community club.  Our partnership with Pilmeny Youth Centre can be traced back to that date.

Our first ever coaching session was held in the hall, and we’ve frequently teamed up with PYC for a number of community projects, fundraising and social, events. Indeed, we thought it appropriate to establish a “Lite” club rebrand, and include the Pilmeny name in our title. In fact, the clubs bank status and accounts  are registered in that very title and have been in place since forming in 1989.

Tuesday & Friday, coaching sessions Spring & Summer are held at Pilrig Park. Winter sessions are are held on Tuesdays in the games hall at Pilrig Park Special Needs, school and Fridays at Leith Academy Astro

Our Current academy ages levels are - 2008s (U15) and 2010 U13)

Young people are drawn from a variety of schools within the greater Leith Area and include:-

Lorne - Leith Walk - Broughton - Victoria - Trinity - St Mary's Leith & Edinburgh - Parkside (Gaelic) schools - Hermitage Park - Holy Cross - Duddingston - Leith Primaries

Our original Development coaches Roddy & Murdo (3v2 Soccer Academy) will return to the club and will conduct Friday coaching sessions for U15 & U13 squads with support from current coaching teams, from 24 February until the end of the season. They’ll be tasked with taking a “fresh” approach to team & player develoment.
